To say that I am disappointed is an understatement.  My kids may not get to play in the snow all winter.

Day 30

SNOW!!

It finally started snowing!!  I have been waiting for this all winter.  Just think if you live in Kentucky it is very possible you could get all four seasons in one week!  70's the first part of the week and below zero by the end of the week.  You just never know what you will get.  But I was sure happy to finally see some of this white stuff.  Now if it will only stick!

Day 29

Green Beans & Mash Potatoes

This would be a picture of how my son eats his green beans and mash potatoes.  It totally grosses me out!!  I am one of those people that can't stand for my food to touch.  Needless to say he did not end up with that trait and is constantly mixing his foods together.  As long as he is eating I am happy, but oh how yucky it is!

Okay, so I am quite behind in posting pictures, but I promise I have been taking them everyday.  I just haven't even had a moment to get online and post them.

There's nothing like a beautiful sunrise to start your Monday morning out.  It even turned into a beautiful, but windy 70 degree day.  Can't ask for much more for January!

Day 27

Me and my babies!

One of my goals this year, like probably most mom photographers, is to be in more pictures with my children.  I am always the one behind the camera and rarely do I think to take a picture with me in it.  Well, that is going to change this year.  I love so much looking back at pictures of me with my mom when I was a little girl and I hope that my children will cherish our pictures as well.  I know one day when I am wrinkled, gray and with many years showing in my face, I will love to look back on these pictures of my younger self with my young babies.  All too soon they will be grown and I know I am going to miss this.

My new project, a dress for Avery.  If it turns out good Lakelyn will get one too!  I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Ice

No snow, but we woke up this morning to a world covered in a thin sheet of ice.

Check Yes or No

This morning I walked into my bathroom to find this note from Avery laying on my vanity.  Guess she is at the age of the check yes or no letters.  How did this happen so fast?!?  I wonder if she is getting notes like this from boys....YIKES!  I don't think I am ready for that!

Day 23

Molly and Lucy

Do you ever get the feeling that there is ALWAYS someone in your bed?  Well at my house that seems to be the case...even if it is not one of my kids.  Tonight I walk into my room to find that Miss Lakelyn has tucked sweet Molly and Lucy into my bed.  I must say it is a pretty comfy bed...and maybe, just maybe one day Jason and I will have it to ourselves again!

Day 22

Groceries

Okay, so I had nothing today for my picture.  My day literately consisted of going to work, going to the grocery, putting the groceries away and then crashing on the couch for the night.  This is all I got.  :)

 My first ever note from my little man!

My little astronaut colored me a picture and then wrote I love you on the back of it before he gave it to me.  I absolutely love getting notes like this from my kiddo's!  And here he is with the picture he colored.  He had to hold it together because he accidentally ripped it in two!  :)  I am pretty sure I will keep it FOREVER!

Our Moon

I love that I can walk outside at my house and see the moon and stars in all their glory!  It is so clear and beautiful out tonight.  I also saw one of the most amazing shooting stars I had ever seen while taking this picture.

Ice Skating!

For Avery's birthday Jason and I got her a gift card to Club Tabby.  After her Rainbow Rocker make-over we went ice skating.  This was Avery's first time on the ice and she did an amazing job!  I hadn't been since I was a kid and needless to say I had several wipe-outs!!

Day 18

Sycamore Tree

In a few weeks our old sycamore tree will be gone.  It has been slowing dieing for the past few years and Jason has decided it is time for it to go.  I am going to miss seeing it on the horizon.

Winter Evening

Still no snow.  Had a little sleet the other night, but I don't think that counts. :)  The temperature has finally dropped and it is actually starting to feel like winter around here.

Locks of Love

So very proud of this girl today!  We went to get our regular trims this afternoon, but when it was Avery's turn she asked Rhonda (the lady who does our hair) how long her hair would need to be to give to Lock of Love.  She needed to have 10 inches, so they measured her hair and sure enough that was exactly what Avery had.  When Rhonda asked her if that was what she wanted to do, Avery said Yes!  I had no idea that was her plan for her haircut.  I am so thankful for the compassion she has for others!!

Day 15

And she sleeps...

My beautiful Avery, my oldest.  She is tough as nails, sweet as sugar, the most tender-hearted person I know and more independent that I could have ever imagined.  She loves playing in the dirt and playing dress-up just the same.  She reminds me so much of myself as a little girl.  Tonight, while taking this picture, all I could think is how fast 8 years has gone.  I am going to blink and she is going to be a young woman, but tonight she is 8 and she sleeps... 

Day 14

Crayons

Okay, so here is a little confession.  I LOVE crayons.  Not just any crayons, straight out of the box, perfectly sharpened crayons.  So is it sad that I want to be the first to color with the new crayons Santa brought?  I really thought about it as I was taking this picture today, but I think I will wait until a nice quite afternoon an afternoon when I need the kids to chill out for a few minutes and then we can all sit around the kitchen table and color.  :)

Day 13

The Love of my Life!

Words can not express how much I love this man!  My best friend, my lover, my soul mate, the father of my children.  I could not get through this life without him.  He's a little on the quite side, I can be a little loud.  He likes country, I like rock.  He is very warm natured, I walk around freezing most the time. He is the most patience person I know, I could use a little work in that area.  We balance each other out and complement each other well.  He's my rock. He loves God, me and our children with all his heart.  I could not be more blessed!   

Day 12

Water

Since we have had all this rain, I thought it would be a good time to find a stream flowing and try to get some good shots of the water.  This was my fist attempt of trying to show movement with the water.  I am not 100% happy with it, but it will do.  I think I need to find a place that has a little more water and then maybe I can get more of the look I am going for.

Sunsets

It was 65 degrees here in Kentucky today.  I don't think Mother Nature got the memo that it is January!!  It finally stopped raining and it felt just like a spring day.  I have even seen Daffodils starting to pop up.  As much as I want some snow, it was very nice to watch the sun set off my back deck last night and it not even be cold.  It was a perfect start to date night with the hubby!

Day 10

Rain

Why oh why can't we get any snow?  It has rained for 4 days straight here and all I can think about is how cool it would have been if all this rain had been snow.  Is it so much to ask for one good snow for my kids to play in?

Day 9

WATCH out!

That's what is should say when Lakelyn enters the room.  She is always into something!!  This is me catching her in her big brothers room playing with his legos.  Moments after I took this picture he came in and saw her.  I am sure you can imagine what happened next...a full blow argument broke out.  I had to put the camera down and go referee....you know, just another afternoon of being Mom.

Day 8

Breakfast for Dinner

It was another late evening around here and I had very little time to cook supper, much less figure out what I was going to take a picture of.  So in this household if you don't know what to cook, you cook breakfast!  I had actually never made gravy before, but Avery loves it so I thought I would give it a try.  Needless to say, it didn't turn out that great.  (She ate it anyway & said it was great.  Love that girl!)  So here is a picture to document my first attempt at gravy.  I had very little light to work with & I was trying to bounce light with my flash.  The picture did not turn out that great, but hey at least I got one in for today.  One of my goals this year is to work on my ability of taking better pictures in low light situations & learning more about my speedlight.  Any tips will be greatly appreciated!!

Day 7

Monday!

This picture about sums up my Monday!  So instead of making faces myself I had my kids do it.  :)  Work is crazy right now.  I spent yesterday afternoon working, dreamed about work last night and ended up working until 8:30 tonight.  Whew, I am wore out!  And it's only Monday...

Day 6

Baby Fingers!

So happy I got to spend my morning with this precious newborn.  She was so sweet!  It's moments like this that bring my baby fever back in full force!  However, three is plenty for us.  I can't even begin to imagine another wild kiddo running around this house!  LOL!  That is what makes newborn photography so great!  You can love on them & hold them & then give them back!

Pretty Toes!

While the boys are out of commission with the flu, us girls spent the afternoon painting our toes!

Day 4

The Flu.

Jason and Oaks both have the flu.  So far us girls are healthy & we are keeping our fingers crossed that we stay that way.

Day 3

Can't live without my morning cup of joe!  Up until this past year, I had NEVER been a coffee drinker.  I don't know when or how it happen, but I couldn't get though the day without now!

Day 2

Gran!

This is my two youngest with my Mom.  I don't know what we would do without her.  She is always ready to help in a pinch.  Like this morning when I realize I don't have a car seat because mine is in my car in the shop (for repairs after a deer incident) and Jason got called into work at 4:00 am and we never thought to get his out of his vehicle and into the one I am driving.  So instead of daycare they got to spend the day at home with their Gran.  They were pretty happy about that!
